The lab was awarded the Canadian Institutes on Health Research (CIHR) grant to understand how the threat-level of a context alters prefrontal representations of fear memories. We will use in vivo electrophysiology and miniscope calcium imaging recordings combined with optogenetic manipulations to understand how the cortex, hippocampus, and amygdala interact to gate fear expression in contexts with high, low, and ambiguous threat levels.

The lab was awarded a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Discovery Grant to investigate neural circuit mechanisms of defensive behaviour in the midbrain.

The lab was awarded a New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF) grant to investigate non-invasive methods to reduce fear and anxiety behaviors, in collaboration with Antoine Godin and Shirley Fecteau at the University of Laval.
